Cybercrime is out of control, and the Nation’s Sheriffs, Police Chiefs, their private sector partners, and U.S. policymakers must do more to combat the global cyber threat
The National Cybercrime Investigators Program is focused on delivering more investigations and prosecutions of cybercrimes. The program advances five priorities listed below.
FIVE PRIORITIES TO ACHIEVE MORE INVESTIGATIONS & MORE PROSECUTIONS
Law Enforcement Cyber Investigation Training, at No Cost to Law Enforcement
NSA Certification of Cybercrime Investigators
Outreach to Sheriffs & Police Chiefs in Building A National Network of Cybercrime Investigators
Development and Maintenance of A National Information Sharing Environment
Reporting of Cybercrime Offenses & Cyber Threat Intelligence
In order to more deeply engage the Nation's Sheriffs and Deputies in investigating and prosecuting cybercrimes, and to step up the law enforcement response to cybercrime and the cyber threat, the National Sheriffs' Association (NSA) adopted NSA Resolutions in 2018 and 2019 supporting and adopting the National Cybercrime Investigators Program.
